In physical education, we stride to provide a safe and positive learning environment that supports the needs and abilities of our students. We sometimes forget that some of the activities we do in school are not available to students outside of class times. Exergaming, in its many forms, is available in schools (before and after school), at home, and in the community and this has the potential to impact students. (Stephen Yang)
However the variability of the first results about the effectiveness of exergaming recommend new studies for deciding the best ways to motivate children and get minimum requirements of physical activity through these platforms.
It´s very important compare the differences between children with normal-weight and obese. There are studies between the cardiovascular and metabolic differences between normal-weight & obese children so the best exergaming for normal weight cannot be the perfect exercise for obese Childs . The same questions remain for the difference in children population of different races and cultures as can be American, Asian & European population.
For these studies our research institute has developed what we called “EXERLAB”, a new laboratory for studying the relations between “physical activity” , “physiological states” and “cognitive states” through the use of new technologies like “virtual reality”, “exergaming”, “biomedical sensors” , “new physical activity machines”, “augmented reality” , “psychical activity tracking sensors”...
