Full-time Enrollment Requirement

MIS (Master in Interaction Science)	PhD	MIS/PhD combined	Remark

After successful completion of the required semesters, students in the PhD and MIS/PhD combined programs are required to register 4 additional consecutive semesters for independent research, during which students complete their MIS thesis and PhD dissertation and take oral defense. If students manage to complete their thesis and dissertation early, the remaining research semesters may be exempted.

A. Students who entered the department for the MIS/Ph.D. combined degree prior to 2011 are required to complete 57 credits (30 major credits + 27 elective credits).

Dissertation Submission Qualifying Examination

A. Students should apply via GLS and upload their English test scores at the beginning of each semester. The score reports must be original copies.

B. The official score should be valid and getting the score after your admission date.

C. The language test results may not be older than 2 years which means, the official score should be valid.

D. Native English speakers should take Korean exam(ex. TOPIK level 1 or above)

B. Students who fail the exam are allowed to retake the exam.

C. The qualifying exam is offered once each semester.

A. Thesis and Dissertation Committee

- MIS : 3 tenure-track professors at SKKU

- Ph.D., MIS/Ph.D. combined (preliminary defense): 3 tenure-track professors at SKKU

- Ph.D., MIS/Ph.D. combined (main defense): 5 tenure-track professors. Tenure-track professors at other universities are acceptable.

B. Method of application

- Submission for application to the office of the Department of Interaction Science

- Paid the fee for defense
(Defense for Master and Pre defense for Doctorate / Master & Doctorate : 100,000 won, Defense for Doctorate / Master & Doctorate : 510,000 won)
